It’s that time of year again. The frost, snow, and of course, the frozen ice over your favorite lake. If you are in the Northern part of the world and the temperature drops below 32 degrees, you start pulling the ice fishing gear and tackle from storage.
It’s not long before we slide out to our spot and bust out the ice auger to drill holes for panfish like Crappies or even bigger trophies like Walleye and Pike.
No matter which species is on your target list for each fishing trip, you need to present the right jigs at the right time to get them biting.

When the Drop-Kick is jigged correctly, it creates a “kick” that Panfish can’t resist. They also designed the top of the jighead with a large flat surface, perfect for seeing on your sonar unit with a smaller size jig. The Drop-Kick comes in six colors and is UV coated giving these jigheads a great finish. Drop-kick the fish on your next trip on the ice.

The Swedish Pimple is a superb ice fishing jigging lure. Their proven ability to take walleye, trout, Coho salmon, northern, bass, panfish, and many other fish species makes owning this lure a must for most fishermen. As a general rule, the larger sizes are for game fish in deep water lakes.
The smaller sizes are for panfish or trout, bass, etc in shallow lakes. All sizes will produce game fish and panfish if both types inhabit the same waters. Ultra-lite and light action rods, with balanced ice reels spooled with 2 or 4 lb test line teamed with a Swedish Pimple has brought many large panfish to the dinner table.
